Appeal against rejection of SkatteFUNN applications

If you believe that the decision is wrong, you have two choices: You can either submit a new application or you can appeal the decision.

Tip: Apply again

It takes about the same amount of time to write a complaint as it does to write a new application. Take the time to familiarise yourself with why the project does not meet the requirements for an R&D project by reading the decision letter and contacting us if anything is unclear to be sure not to spend unnecessary time.

Remember the warranty deadline! If you choose to send a new application, it must be submitted before 1 September to ensure that we can process it. If it is sent after 1 September, we will most likely not have time to give an assessment of the current project year.

Appeal against a decision

The deadline for submitting a complaint is within three weeks from the date you receive the rejection letter, unless a different deadline is specified. You submit a complaint via a separate form on the logged in area. The entrance to the appeal form can be found in the same place as your decision.

What happens when complaints are processed

The complaint will first be considered by the Research Council, which may change its decision if new information in the complaint means that the criteria for approval are met. If the Research Council upholds its decision, the complaint will be considered by an external Appeals Committee for SkatteFUNN, which makes the final decision. The processing time for complaints in the Appeals Committee is usually three to six months.

We process the complaints on an ongoing basis as they are received. Complaints that come in late in the year may have a longer processing time than six months. We encourage all our applicants to submit their application well in advance of the guarantee deadline of 1 September. Then any complaint will also end up further ahead in the queue and be answered more quickly.
