Application results for the Researcher Project calls with deadline 2 February 2022

Did you apply for one of the Researcher Project calls in February? At the end of August and beginning of September we will announce which applications are granted funding.

In August and September 2022, we will allocate funding from the following calls for proposals for researcher projects:

The allocations are adopted at portfolio board meetings in the latter half of August. We will publish the results on this page the following days. We provide information about which applications have been granted funding, key figures on the allocation and, for topics where the number of applications is sufficient, grade statistics.

Applicants will receive a letter about the application result in My RCN web the first week in September an onwards. In the response letter, you will be notified of the outcome of the application processing, get feedback from the expert panel and a brief, general description of what was emphasized in the portfolio assessments.

Applications that were initially aimed at topics other than Ground-breaking Research (FRIPRO) but did not receive funding, also compete for funding for Ground-breaking Research if they meet the qualification requirement: grade 6 or 7 on all the criteria assessed by the panel.

How applications are reviewed

The grant applications are first processed in a joint process where a set of expert panels, composed on the basis of the research content of the applications, assessed the applications without consideration of which topic the applicant has chosen.

The relevance of the grant applications has then been assessed for the topic chosen by the applicant. The administration presents alternative ranked lists to the portfolio boards, which decide which applications receive funding.

Applications within the topic Groundbreaking Research (FRIPRO) have not been assessed on the based on relevance.

Following feedback from the applicants in 2021, we made several changes to the application processing this year. The changes shall, among other things, provide:

  • better quality in expert panels' assessments
  • a feedback on the application that justifies the application result
  • better information about what happens in the various stages of application review processing
