Facts about Researcher Project
Funding is intended to support scientific renewal and development in research that can help to advance the international research front.
The calls shall promote ground-breaking research and internationalisation. There are different types of Researcher Project calls.
Researcher Project for Scientific Renewal (thematic calls)
The aim is to support scientific renewal and development in research that can help to advance the international research front. This call is therefore targeted towards researchers who have demonstrated the ability to conduct research of high scientific quality.
Researcher Project for Experienced Scientists (FRIPRO)
This call replaces previous calls for Researcher Project for Scientific Renewal in FRIPRO. We have introduced a requirement of six years of experience after a doctoral degree or associate professor qualifications in order to apply. The variant is thus reserved for experienced researchers who are particularly skilled in their fields of research.
Researcher Project for Early Career Scientists
Funding is intended to give talented researchers the opportunity to pursue their own research ideas and lead a research project. This call is targeted towards researchers in the early stages of their careers, 2–7 years after defence of an approved doctorate, who have demonstrated the potential to conduct research of high scientific quality.
Large-scale Interdisciplinary Researcher Project
The purpose is to advance the research front through interdisciplinary projects with larger allocations. We support researchers from different disciplines who together will generate new knowledge that would not have been possible to achieve without interdisciplinary cooperation. Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to conduct research of high scientific quality.
Three-year Researcher Project with International Mobility (FRIPRO)
The purpose of this call is to increase international mobility and promote career development among researchers at an early stage in their careers, as well as to facilitate knowledge transfer to research groups in Norway. This call is targeted towards researchers at the postdoctoral level who are to spend two years at a research organisation abroad and the third year at a research organisation in Norway.
