M-ERA.NET - Call2025 - ERA-NET for research and innovation on materials

The Research Council announces up to 3.7 million euros for Norwegian researchers and businesses who want to participate in international research collaboration in materials research.  

M-ERA.NET aims to strengthen the European Research Area (ERA) on advanced materials. With annual joint calls M-ERA.NET funds ground-breaking research, facilitates knowledge exchange, promotes sustainable solutions in the field of materials science, and fosters transnational collaboration among researchers, academia, industry and other stakeholders.   The call has six thematic areas (listed below), five of which require the participation of a Norwegian industrial partner. In the last one (Sustainable materials for energy applications), the participation of a Norwegian industrial partner is strongly encouraged.

Call Schedule: 

  • The Pre-Proposal Deadline is 13 May 2025, 12:00 noon, CEST
  • The Full-Proposal Deadline is 19 November 2025, 12:00 noon, CET 

Norwegian partners can participate in the following thematic areas:

  •  Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces  
  •  Advanced composites and lightweight materials   
  • Functional materials    
  • Materials addressing environmental challenges   
  • Next generation materials for electronics   
  • Sustainable materials for energy applications
