Horizon Europe, the EU’s ninth framework programme for research and innovation, was launched on 1 January 2021 with a total budget of EUR 95.5 billion. Norwegian actors can apply for funding on equal footing with enterprises, public sector bodies and research institutions in EU member states.

What is Horizon Europe?
Horizon Europe is the world's largest research and innovation programme with a budget of EUR 95.5 billion. As much as 35 per cent of the budget will be allocated to climate objectives to achieve green restructuring and sustainable value creation for companies, research institutions and public administration.
The programme is the ninth in a series of EU research and innovation programmes and succeeds Horizon 2020. An important innovation is the introduction of ambitious missions-oriented research and innovation assignments to solve selected major societal challenges.
Norwegian companies may apply for funding for and participate in research and innovation projects on an equal footing with the business sector in EU member states. EUR 95.5 billion is in the pot and together with Innovation Norway we will help you further.
